I have finally found the time to write about my small, and it is funny already, crisis!! Last week I had floor time at the office, I got finished, rushed home picked up the kids from school, Abby from Grandma's, stopped at a house to show a client, and finally home, only to hear from the client, saying they wanted to write an offer on the home. Most of the time that would be really exciting. That day it was just a little to much!! The kids decided they would stay home, it was only going to take an hour - maybe an hour and a half...... they could handle it.
I ran to the office, met with the client wrote up the home, and finished up - time 1 1/2 hours. I headed home, only to realize it was a Thursday, I had to have my ad in by 6:00, it was 5:45. I ran in the house, checked the kids, they were all watching a movie, and sat down at the computer to email my ad to the paper. A few minutes pass, before Brody walks up to me and asks......"Mom, haven't you always wanted an indoor swimming pool?" I replied "Not really, that would be just to much work" He adds "Are you sure?" Confused I look at him, and say "No..." At that point I realize that there is more to this then a conversation. " Come here Mom...." Brody says nicely as he grabs my hand. (He is such a caring little guy, it makes me so proud)
I walk into the bathroom, and gasp as I see about 1 inch of water covering the entire floor, and the sink just a running!! It was the breaking point!! I lost it!! I wish I could have kept my head long enough to take a picture, but it was too late! My kids were so shocked to see me break down like that! We live in a tri level home, so down below the bathroom, it the utility closet, the water had seeped through the floor, into the utility closet, it was a mess. So after the initial shock of it all, I started to use my shampooer, and start sucking up the water, as I cried!
Kaity walked in, she couldn't help but tell the truth, she had started the water, so Abby could bathe her baby, and started talking on the phone, and forgot the water!! It had ran, hot water for 1 1/2 hours! Needless to say the phone was off limits for a few days. But at least she had told me the truth!! Through it all we made it, the flooring in the bathroom didn't fair so well, but I didn't like it anyway!! Jay, the great guy he is showed up with dinner, no questions asked!;-)
What a night!!

That is so funny. I just have to love days like that. They make life a more interesting and memorable. Your kids are great.
Jessica,
I can't count the times I have had things like that happen. It all works out. It's great to laugh about it after but what a crisis during! Brody is such a sweet guy! They all are.
I love to hear that other people have crazy crisis days like me. It's helps me know I am human/normal. Fun times we have as moms.
Holy-geez. That was a hectic day. At least you can look back at it and laugh though.
